This program in essence reverses the process in the Cam Manufacture program where a cam profile is provided as an output. Here an actual cam profile is measured using either a ball or a flat follower on a conventional cam profile measuring machine and its measured output data is used as input data to this program.
The units of the input data can be imperial (inch) or metric (mm). The user must then use the geometry of the relevant cam follower mechanism. This geometry input format is identical to that already employed in the Cam Manufacture and the Valve Train Analysis programs.
The output is a file of measured valve lift in a format that can be directly analysed in one of the three Deduce Valve Lift Design programs.
